Vocational retraining program "Georgian Traditional Wine Production Technologies"

By the decision No. 337145 of April 13th, 2020  of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement for Vocational Training / Retraining Program Implementation Right Granting Board 

The duration of the vocational training program is 19 weeks. The program envisages the teaching of Georgian traditional technologies of wine production and the acquisition of knowledge and experience necessary for the production of quality wine.

The program includes: Teachings about different categories / types of wine technologies: qvevri wine, bio wine, fortified wine, sparkling wine, naturally semi-dry / sweet wines, etc .; Detailed discussion of separate technological operations of wine production, current microbiological and physico-chemical processes; Familiarity with the factors affecting the quality and composition of wine; Familiarity with the equipment, utensils, devices, permitted materials used in winemaking practice and training on their use.

The attendee will receive information about the regulation of viticulture and winemaking by the state. The details of the wine certification procedures required for export will be clarified. Will study the requirements of regulatory documentation for wine in the field. Learn about the key issues in wine branding and marketing.

The program includes practical training courses:

- Chateau Zegaani, one of the oldest wineries producing bio wine with ISO certification;
- In two industrial wine enterprises
- Two cellars of qvevri wine 

A state-recognized certificate is issued upon completion of the program.
